Europe Direct Lublin, RCIE in Lublin
European founds for mayors
Europe Direct – Lublin, and Regional Center of European Information would like to invite for training about the possibilities of gaining structural funds for the representatives of local government from Lublin Region. The training will be organized in Conference and Training Centre of European Meeting Centre – Nowy Staw Foundation in Nasutów near Lublin, Nautów 98A (www.nasutow.pl) on the 9th April 2010. After finished training there will be the possibility to have direct, individual consultation with a trainer, specialist in Structural Funds. You will have the opportunity to be given an advice and detailed information about your projects which are being implemented and concern gaining Structural Funds from the European Union.

Opening conference of the project
„Training and internships for people who are disabled”
We welcome you to attend the conference about beginning the project “Training and internships for people who are disabled”. The conference will take place on the 29th of March at 11:00-14:00 at the conference hall in the Ambassador hotel in Rzeszow, Rynek 14.
The conference will promote the project which aims to increase the chances of disabled people, who are 45 years or older, to become competitive in the job market by giving them qualifications for many different career fields. One of the speakers in this conference will be Marian Leszczyński - a long time director for the National Disabled Persons Rehabilitation Fund.

Across the border.
Polish-german training for international youth exchanges
On March 26- April 1 in Jugendbildungszentrum Blossin will be the first part of the Polish-German specialized training for international youth exchanges with particular emphasis on German-Polish youth exchanges.
Participants in the first part of the training will take part in workshops including in the field of intercultural communication, international teamwork, teaching experience, group dynamics. In addition, learn how to prepare and carry out a good step by step workshop. The second part of the training will take place within a period 24.10.2010-30.10.2010 in the European Meeting Centre in Nasutów.

Community Media Centre
Our volunteers at the seminar in Tbilisi.
The volunteers from our Foundation undergo a training of web-TV reporters in Tbilisi. They take part in the training course 'video journalism' which was organized by the European Association Youth4Media.
Three volunteers of the Foundation went on a weekly training to learn specifics of working with web-TV, exchange experience with their colleagues from Germany, Georgia, Ukraine, Armenia and Romania. In addition they learn how to use new media skills to initiate public discussions on issues relating civil society and democracy.

Study visit within the project
„Transfer of know-how on professional counseling for young people”
From 23rd till 27th of February a study visit for professional counselors from Ukraine, Belarus, Norway and Poland took place. During this visit the participants visited institutions dealing with professional counseling in Lublin and Zamość.
The aim of the study visit was to present the system of professional counseling in Poland to the professional counselors from Ukraine, Belarus and Norway through showing them some example institutions dealing with professional counseling for young people.

Opening conference of the project
“Transfer of know-how on professional counseling for young people”
On 22nd of February the opening conference of the project "Transfer of know-how on professional counseling for young people” took place in the Hotel Unia in Lublin. The aim of the project is to improve the qualifications of professional counselors from Poland, Ukraine and Belarus through the transfer of the methods of professional counseling for young people between 4 countries: Poland, Norway, Belarus and Ukraine.
The conference was opened by Tomasz Różniak - president of the European Meeting Centre – Nowy Staw Foundation and Tomasz Piecak – the commandant of Voluntary Work Centre in Lublin. Representatives of all partners institution were present in the conference, all together around 50 persons. After the opening of the conference the project was introduced as well as the problems that should be solved due to the project, the aims of the project, results and the activities planned within the project. This was followed by the presentation of all partners and their activities.

“Stories not to be forgotten but to be shared”
– international youth exchange in Finland
An international comic youth Exchange will be held between 14 – 21st March 2010 in Metsakartano Youth Cetnre, Finland.
Youth from eight European countries e.g. Finland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland, Greece, Spain and Portugal is going to participate in this event. The youth exchange is being held in Metsakartano Youth Centre – surrounded by hilly forests, lakes and rivers is set nearby Tiilikkajärvi National Park. During 6 days of exchange participants will take part in comic creating workshops, work on their own comic stories which will be presented at comic festival in autumn in Helsinki.

as a sending organization of European Voluntary Service
In 2009 European Meeting Centre – Nowy Staw Foundation in the frames of European Voluntary Service (EVS) - Action 2 European Commission Youth in Action Programme sent 15 young people to different European countries.
In 2009 European Meeting Centre – Nowy Staw Foundation in the frames of European Voluntary Service (EVS) - Action 2 European Commission Youth in Action Programme sent 15 young people to different European countries. At the moment voluntaries are doing their EVS service in partner organizations of Nowy Staw Foundation in countries such as: England, France, Portugal, Greece, Spain, Italy, Malta, Finland, Germany and also Ukraine.

VIII Gniezno Convention is finished
„Family hope for Europe” was a main topic of the VIII Gniezno Convention which was co- organised by our Foundation. Among the guests there were President Kaczyński and Prof. Bartoszewski.
The debates were focused on every day life of families and issues such as maternity, bringing up through models of families in various religions to family policy both on national and European levels. The summary of the Convention is the Final Appeal.

Project „Working graduate”
On 10th of March the Institute of Labour Market held a conference summarizing the project "Working graduate”.
The purpose of the meeting was to summarize the project which was implemented from 1st of April 2009. under the Human Capital Operational Program (Measure 6.1.1). The project „Working graduate” was aimed to young people (under 25 years old) living in lubelskie voivodeship. The aim of the project was comprehensive support for those people and increasing their chances of functioning on the job market.

"Believe in your inside power!" – international youth exchange
Volunteers from European Meeting Centre - Nowy Staw Foundation thanks to the financial support of the “Youth in Action" programme implement a project of the international youth exchange which main objective is to integrate young people from different European countries by the use of various types of art.
The project partners are: Regional Public Library which is located on Narutowicza 4 street in Lublin, where on 8 March at 12.30 p.m. will take place the opening of the exhibition of the photos taken during the exchange by the participants Korczak Children’s home in Lublin, where one of the walls will be covered during the joint drawing by the children and the project participants.

"Złota 9" Academy
Media camp of Akademia Złota 9
A youth debate to the topic „Is it worth to study in Lublin?”, on-line program in the internet television, film reportage and multimedia webblog – these are work results of participants from Akademia Złota 9 within the media camp.
48 pupils from the whole Lubelskie Region took part in the journalist-media workshop organized by the European Meeting Centre – Nowy Staw Foundation in the conference centre Dom Nasutów. During one week of workshops the participants divided into working groups were learning how to write information and scripts, how to work with camera, edit movies, make live tv programs and create webblogs. They visited also the Polish Radio Lublin and Lublin Television.
