YEAR 2015 NEWS

Project „A City From My Dreams” took place between 18th and 25th July 2015 in Nasutów, near Lublin. 19 young people from Poland, Germany, Romania and Turkey took part in this exchange.

The keynote of this meeting was spatial management and architecture. Participants had a chance to get to know the vision of Danish architect, Jan Gehl. They also had an opportunity to meet a bicycle officer of Lublin, Mr. Michał Przepiórka. Using the knowledge gained during the workshops, participants designed their own public spaces in the program for 3D modelling, called “SketchUp”. These spaces were supposed to encourage city residents to leave their houses and integrate with each other.

Another part of the project was a workshop with ephemeral forms of small architecture. Young people personally built benches and flowerbeds. In reference to the closed traffic on the Żmigród street, the participants organized a happening there. They placed there benches and flowerbeds made by themselves, they taught traditional dances, they did a contest of knowledge about their countries of origin and also organized a small snack for the local residents.
