Last week, Lublin became a place of meetings and debates of entrepreneurs from Turkey with entrepreneurs from Lublin region. These events took place on 30.10.2014 r. in Lublin Park of Science and Technology. The debate was organized as part of trade mission organized on behalf of the Marshal's Office by Lublin Consulting Centre in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Lublin. Chamber`s partner in the preparation of this meeting was the Regional Centre of the International Debates in Lublin.
The main objective of the project was to establish economic contacts between Turkish entrepreneurs and their counterparts from the Lubelskie region.
The meeting was opened by Mr. Sławomir Sosnowski, Marshal of Lubelskie region and Artur Habza, Director of the Department of Economy and Innovation, Marshal`s Office in Lublin. Mr. Habza expressed his will to support business cooperation and dialogue for cooperation between Lubelskie Province and Turkish entrepreneurs.
He stressed that the partnership is the key to a fruitful co-operation, which in the case of Lublin and Turkish businessmen would be in particular in the fields of science, engineering, and manufacturing industries.
Mr. Director, also assured that the Marshal's Office seeks to correct possible barriers to be encountered by entrepreneurs participating in the meeting. He ended with the wish that Turkey will become an important economic partner for entrepreneurs in the province of Lublin.
Then Her Excellency Mr. Melike Ersoy Yüksel, Honorary Consul of the Polish Republic in Turkey presented the economic potential of the city and the province of Gaziante. Later Ms Marta Smułkowska, Head of the Department of Trade and Investment Promotion in the Department of Economy and Innovation, in Marshal`s Office of Lublin presented the participants of the meeting from the Polish side.
An important part of the meeting was the presentation of the economic potential and the research and development of the Lublin province. This presentation was made by Ms. Ilona Dąbrowska, Innovation Broker of Lublin Science and Technology Park.
After a break for lunch, which was also an opportunity to establish business contacts, there was time for Business-to-Business meetings. Lublin and Turkish entrepreneurs had the opportunity to talk about possible forms of cooperation. B2B meetings were an opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge. The visit ended with a gala dinner at which Director Artur Habza gave our guests a commemorative coin issued by the Polish National Bank in relation to the 600th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Polish and Turkey.
