Marshal Office of Lublin organized a conference summarizing the project "Building partnerships for the development of the Cross-Border Strategy for 2014-2020", which was attended by representatives of the partner regions of Ukraine and Belarus, as well as the local government of the province of Lublin.
Lublin Regional Government, represented by Deputy Head Krzysztof Hetman and the vise-deputy head Speaker Slawomir Sosnowski, initiated the work on the Cross-border Strategy of Lublin Province, Oblast of Lviv, Volyn Oblast and the District of Brest for the years 2014-2020.
The project aimed to develop broadly defined cooperation mechanisms, including economic, cultural and tourism between the border areas. The task framework and the concept has been prepared and adopted at the meeting of the Association of Cross-Border Euroregion Bug in Brest on 26 November 2012. The Strategy itself has been developed within the framework of the Joint Working Group consisting of representatives of the Lublin Province and guests of Circuits: Volyn, Lviv and Brest.
Among guests invited to the conference were Boris Klimchuk, Volyn Oblast Governor and Mikhail Juchimuk, who represented District Brzeski.
The conference was intended to summarize the so far work and present the draft strategy for 2014-2020, that begins the process of public consultation. During the meeting, discussions were also carried out on the experience of the partner regions. Moreover the development of the strategy was attended by the staff of the Regional Centre for International Debates of Lublin. This project was co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
