Between 22-24 May we organized an international seminar on reconciliation between work and family life. The seminar took place at Catholic University of Lublin. Its participants were trade unionists from Poland, Chech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Germany.
The topic of reconciliation of family and work was discussed mostly from the point of view of workers but one of the panels was devoted to employers’ perspective. The shouldn’t treat the family of workers as the ballast and obstacle for the efficient work but should concentrate on benefits that the worker`s family brings to the company, the whole society and economical system.
An important topic was the dramatic demographic situation and searching for solutions how to encourage young people to have children.
Another relevant issue was the health situation of workers and the health consequences of lack of balance between professional and private life.
The seminar was organized in cooperation with EZA
(European Centre for Workers Questions)
and was co-financed by the European Union.
