On 25-28 February first meeting of partners of the project „ImpleMentoring City-to-city support for migrant integration” took place. The organizer of the project is the network of European cities Eurocities. Representatives of city offices and NGOs met in Brussels to discuss about the joint project that concerns the integration of migrants in different cities.
The project is based on the mentoring rule. The cities are divided into 2 groups: more experienced (their representatives are mentors) and less experienced in issue of migration that will implement good solutions.
The Brussels meeting allowed getting to know all project participants and to clear all important issues and to create work plans. We are implementing this project together with Lublin City Office. There are a lot of challenges and actions before us.
Soon a special expert group will be created. We start to prepare the visit of our mentor who is a representative of the city of Tampere in Finland. The Lublin visit will take place between 11 and 14 June and it will be an occasion to get to know the city and its policy towards migrants. Apart from Tampere representatives, experts on the field of migration and representatives of EUIROCITIES network will come.
