YEAR 2012 NEWS

Regional Centre for European Information is a partner of this year's open day, organized by the Lublin branch of the National Bank of Poland, and the Polish Association of Numismatic Office in Lublin. Open days will be held from 1-2 December 2012, from 10.00 - 14.00 at the office of the Polish National Bank, Chopin street 6. For guests we have a lot of attractions that will explain the unique role and tasks of the Polish National Bank.

In the form of interactive exhibitions, films and mini lectures we will present:

• History of Central Banking
• History of Money
• euro currency
• Foreign exchange reserves
• Payment system
• monetary policy

Magic of gold: that is exhibition of part of Polish foreign exchange reserves - two bars with a total weight of 25 kg and value of over 4 million zlotych.

Regional Centre for European Information stand where you can learn about the euro banknotes there security, participate in contests and games dedicated to that currency.

Numismatics expert will expertise  old coins and medals, which visitors will bring to the Open Day. The expert also provide advice and guidance on collecting coins and banknotes.

Every penny exhibition of more than 600 years history of the Polish penny, Sport on coins exhibition and much more.
