YEAR 2012 NEWS

We invite teachers, children and young people from schools of the Lublin Region to participate in the annual Congress of the European School Clubs, which will take place on 29 May 2012 at 9.00 in Provincial Office in Lublin in the Blue Room.

This year's Congress will be devoted to the Euro in a double meaning: the currency and football championship organized this year by Poland.

On one hand we want to raise awareness of youth about the European currency, its advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and threats for Poland; on the other hand we would like to encourage young people to practice active sport, using Euro 2012 as an opportunity to promote healthy lifestyles among young people.

In the program of the Congress there are numerous contests of knowledge about the Euro-currency and Euro-championship with prizes.

To participate in the meeting we invite all students and their teachers who:

• act in European School Clubs,
• learn in classrooms with European profile,
• are interested in the activities of European integration.

From one school up to seven students and two teachers may participate.

Applications for participation in the meeting will be accepted on the application form until 23 May 2012 by e-mail: biuro@rcie.lublin.pl.

At the same time we invite students of primary and secondary schools to participate in the contest for the reverse of the Polish euro coin. It is an art contest, it`s subject is the design of the reverse of the future Polish Euro currency created in any plastic form. The contest will be judged at this year's Congress of SKE on May 29. The deadline for entries is the same as the deadline for submission to Congress of SKE - May 23 (date of receipt of the work decides). In the annexes you will find the contest rules and application form for the competition. Application forms for the Congress of SKE and for the competition are separate.

Organizers of the XII Regional Congress of European School Clubs are: Regional Centre for European Information in Lublin and the Europe Direct - Lublin Information Point working at the European Meeting Centre - Nowy Staw Foundation, as well as the Provincial Office of Lublin. Patronage of the Congress took Ms. Jolanta Szołno-Koguc Governor of Lubelskie Region and Mr. Krzysztof Babisz Superintendent of Schools.
