Last Friday (31st March) we finished second transnational student seminar entitled “Student on the labour market”. According to participants it was a project full of intensive but also fruitful work.
Transnational student seminar “Student on the labor market” took place between 25th – 31st March in European Meeting Centre in Nasutow. Project was divided into four parts. In the first one (before the arrival to Poland) foreign participants conducted an international survey regarding students activeness and their position on the labor market. According to those surveys, despite the fact that students live in different countries and societies, conditions, they have to face the same problems such as: lack of work, lack of perspectives after graduation, the necessity to go abroad.
Surveys mentioned above were used as a source for further discussions during the project. International workshops (26th – 28th March) in three thematic blocks and in each three different groups, were the second part of the project:
International conference on Humanistic Department of Maria Curie Skłodowska University with three panel discussions were the culmination point of the project.
Before the conference begin, participants were welcomed by Mr. Mieczysław Ryba – Vice-President of City Council of Lublin.
Afterwards first panel discussion “Experience gained during studies” began. Guests were:

During this session participants had the chance to ask about issues connected with voluntary work: should volunteers look for a proper organization or rather organization should put more efforts on finding valuable people, as well as questions on practices and internships: how to choose interesting practices which will help you to develop yourself, not only making coffee and Xerox copies.
Second session began at 12:00 and was about “Different forms of activeness on the labor market”. Guests were:

Last session was the most interesting and made participants most interested in discussions with guests – “Student – novice on the labor market”. Participants asked lots of questions: what is more important for an employer: knowledge or abilities, how to “sell” your CV, how does the labor market look like and what is its need for students.
