YEAR 2011 NEWS

The polish Presidency in the EU Council was an inspiration of this year’s action "Summer with Central Bank" in Lublin in cooperation with Regional Centre for European Information in Lublin and the Lublin Region Office.

There is a special educational programme prepared for this project directed to children from the region. The project will take place from 29 June till 22 July and aims at delivering knowledge about the polish Presidency in an attractive and interesting way. The activities connected with euro currency will increase the knowledge about countries of European Union, euro currency and about the UE in general.

We plan following activities within the project:

Summer meetings with Europe

The meetings will take place in Lublin Region Office. There are a lot of attractions prepared for the children such as movies, competitions, puzzle, quiz and many others. Through these games children will get to know topics connected with polish Presidency and countries of EU. The meetings will be held by representatives of Lublin Region Office and Regional Centre for European Information in Lublin.

Summer meetings with euro

The meetings will take place in National Polish Bank in Lublin. Young people will get to know the euro bills, the security against falsification and will see the movie "The prices stability. Why is it important also for you?". Another interesting method will be a monetary map of Europe on which children will put national reverses of coins in corresponding countries and a competition of putting together puzzle from euro bills.

Some participants will be able to take part in the artistic competition "Polish Presidency in the EU Council". There will be prices provided for the winners.
