During the Picnic a lot of interesting activities took place, such as: bicycle city, games for children, artistic shows and barbecue. To highline the European character of the Picnic we organized European competitions with prizes and a stand promoting the Polish Presidency in the EU.

PICNIC in MEDIA :
For older school pupils we organized the simulation of assembly of the European Parliament in the Lublin City Hall (City Council Debating Chamber). Young Eurodeputies divided in 7 groups were discussing 3 topics:
The task was difficult because participants should discuss from the point of view of their group. Pupils managed very well this task. The winner group (European People Party) won as prize a trip to the European Parliament in Brussels.
The purpose of the simulation was spreading knowledge about the structure and functioning of the European Union and especially the European Parliament, and developing the skills of discussion of rhetoric and argumentation of young people.
For younger pupils we prepared a city game. The game took place in the Centre of Lublin. The participants formed teams of 5 persons accompanied by a teacher. Participants had to find answers to questions concerning European issues connected to our city. With this aim, teams had to visit institutions, find places and talk with some people. Completing tasks took very little time. The participants of the Game were very ambitious and very quickly found answers to all questions. Each participant received gifts sponsored by Regional Centre for European Information and Europe Direct – Lublin Information Point.
The Information Point was an offer to all inhabitants of Lublin and Lubelskie Region who could get some information about the European Union and get informational materials about EU, mostly about the Polish Presidency in the European Union.
The conference in the Provincial Office of Lubelskie Region gathered beneficiaries of European funds from Lublin and Lubelskie Region (representatives of local authorities, education, health care, church, NGOs, entrepreneurs etc.), to present their experiences in application of funds form EU. They presented their concrete projects realized with support of European funds.
The honorary patronage over the conference took: Mr. Krzysztof Żuk President of Lublin, Mr. Krzysztof Hetman Marshall of Lubelskie Region and Mrs. Genowefa Tokarska Voivod of Lublin.
