YEAR 2011 NEWS

We are pleased to inform you about the project "The Presidency at your fingertips." We launched a website www.prezydecja2011.org that will keep you informed about our activities, and also post the latest information concerning the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The project will imply the following events:

• interactive contest about the Presidency. The competition is aimed for junior high school students and the schools of Lublin Province. They will answer questions about the Presidency on a special website. The scope of the competition will cover the following topics: the Presidency, the Council of the European Union, as well as the priorities of the Polish Presidency.
• European workshops in the schools of the Lublin province. Workshops are supposed to prepare participants of the simulation game for taking part in simulation of Council of the European Union.
• conference on Polish Presidency of the EU Council will be held in April 2011. It is addressed to the inhabitants of Lublin, students, academics, NGO workers, local and regional media. It will be devoted to issues of the Eastern Partnership, legal bases of the Presidency and cultural cooperation in Europe. The conference will be held at the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration at the Catholic University of Lublin John Paul II. It will be broadcasted through Internet.
• radio broadcasts on the Presidency. During the project we will prepare radio broadcasts on the Presidency, addressed to all the region's residents. You will find in them general information about the Presidency and its significance for Poland and Lublin, Polish priorities and current issues and European affairs.
