On 27 May 2010 in the Blue Hall in the Regional Office in Lublin took place on the 10-th Congress of the Regional School European Clubs. The theme of this year's meeting was the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion.
The meeting was attended by students of primary, secondary schools and schools of the Lublin province belonging to the European School Club and attending the classes with European profile. This year’s guests at the Congress were: Father Philip Buczynski President The Little Prince' Hospice for Children in Lublin and Ewa Dados - Radio journalist and the originator of share "Help children survive the winter." In addition, a speech to the young people sent Jan Mela - Ambassador of the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion, President of the "Beyond the horizons foundation". Organizers of the meeting was represented by prof. Lena Kolarska-Bobińska MEP, Krzysztof Babisz School Superintendent and Tomasz Różniak the President of the European Meeting Centre – Nowy Staw Foundation.
In the first part of the Congress settled the contest for the most interesting social initiative undertaken by pupils in primary, middle and secondary schools in the Lublin province.
In the second part of the convention the students participated in interactive workshops on non-formal education. Furthermore was a brief lecture on the Polish presidency in the European Union held.
Organisers of this year's Congress and the competition were: The Regional Centre of European Information, Europe Direct - Lublin operating at the European Meeting Centre- Nowy Staw Foundation, prof. Lena Kolarska-Bobińska, MEP, Henryka Strojnowska - Deputy Voivode in Lublin and Krzysztof Babisz - Lublin School Superintendent.
