Lublin has a multicultural past and present time. This statement has been the key for organizing “5 colours exhibition”, issued by the European Meeting Centre - Nowy Staw Foundation, on European Center of Youth Coopeartion initiative. For more than one month, the youth from Poland, Germany and Ukraine worked together on the exhibition. The big opening of “5 Colours” Exibition took place on May 29th, 2009 in the Culture Centre LSM at 6.00 p.m.
At the opening, not only the coordinator of the project but also some of the participants stood up and talked about their work and first impressions. In the light of the multicultural cooperation between the different groups in Lublin, some special guests were invited, too. They got the chance to give some information about the German and Ukrainian component in Lublin. The exhibition was visited by Mrs Jolanta Szafrańska from the Protestant parish and Mrs Marta Jędrych from Nowy Staw Foundation.
Many young people were attracted to come to the opening, but also some of the elderly citizens of Lublin were curious about the project. There was even a photographer who strongly believes this exhibition won’t be forgotten in the history of Lublin.
After the official part, there was the occassion to meet the people behind all this work, accompanied by a small reception. Certainly, it was a perfect time to admire the result of all the hard work done.
You can still visit the exhibition “5 Colours” until June 20th 2009
in the Culture Centre LSM, ul. Wallenroda 4a in Lublin.
The entrance is free.
