What is respect and why is it important?

Under the topic Create Respect! European Meeting Center – Nowy Staw Foundation in cooperation with the Young Journalist Association POLIS encourages youngster aged 15 to 25 to create media products (video, audio, words and images) and send them till the 30th of April to the following address:

The competition consists of the following categories:

a) Video - spots, short animated movies (1 min.), videoclips,

documentary short films (max.7 min.)

b) Audio - short songs (30 sek.), audio jingle (max. 1 min.),

audio short stories, sketches (max.3 min.)

c) Words & images - posters, postcards, flyer, buttons, graffiti, paintings,
fotostories, comics with .jpg file extension

The competition aims at raising tolerance and self-confidence among young people. By organising the contest, the organisers want to encourage youngsters to independent and creative work with New Media.

The Create Respect! Competition consists of two parts. It is carried out in cooperation with partners from seven European countries. Nowy Staw Foundation is the supporting partner of the main organiser of the competition in Poland – the Young Journalists' Association POLIS (Warsaw). For details on POLIS see:http://polis.org.pl/

The best works in all categories take part in a contest on international level coordinated by the project Mediattivo (cooperativa socialeGrado 16, Milano, Italy). For details see:http://www.mediattivo.com.

The idea of the competition had been developed by a network of organisations active in media education during a Partnership Building Activity in October 2008 hosted by Mediattivo/Grado 16 in Milano (I). The Activity had been realized with co-financing from the progam “Youth in Action” (Action 4.3) of the European Union.
